TEAMS/REPORTS

August 31st        Hethersett     3      Aylsham Reserves      1

Hethersett took the lead in the first half with a goal from Adam Waters. Aylsham then laid siege to the Hethersett goal but were unable to draw level until the second half. As players tired it looked as if the game would end in a draw but substitute Paul Martin had other ideas and scored with a tremendous 30 yard drive shortly after coming on. Jack Raven put the match beyond doubt with a curling shot into the top corner.

TEAM: George Newberry, Paul Baxter, Jonny Martin, Jacob Morrison, Andy Oliver, Mike Pugh, Tom Rainsford, Jack Raven, Chris Thirtle, Adam Waters, Nick Benfield, Paul Martin

September 7th     Wymondham Rangers Res      2    Hethersett Res  5

Hethersett looke ddown and out when they were 2-0 down at half-time but they got a boost in confidence with a long range effort from Jack Raven. After the break the team changed its formation and went onto the attack and the goals began to flow.

TEAM: George Newbery, Mike Pugh, Jacob Morrison, Jonny Martin, Paul Baxter, Chris Thirtle, Jack Raven, Nick Benfield, Tom Rainsford, Adam Waters, Andy Oliver. Sub - Will Cook, Rob Pugh, Andy Kavanagh

September 14th           Hethersett     2   Dynamo Denmark    3

An even first half ended goalless. George Newberry played outfield after the break and soon put Hethersett in front. Hethersett were then caught on the break as Dynamo raced into a 3-1 lead. Adam Waters made it 3-2 but the effort came too late.

TEAM: George Newberry, Mike Pugh, Jacob Morrison, Jonny Martin, Paul Baxter, Andy Oliver, Jack Raven, Andy Kavanagh, Tom Rainsford, Adam Waters, Nick Benfield, Will Cook, Craig Chadwick

September 21st             Hethersett     1    Wymondham Wanderers Res    2

There were chances for both teams in the first half but Wymondham created the most and went in 1-0 ahead at half-time. The second half followed a similar pattern with Wymondham increasing their lead before George Newbury pulled a goal back for Hethersett,

TEAM: Ben Shearing, Paul Baxter, Jacob Morrison, Jonny Martin, Will Cook, Chris Thirtle, Jack Raven, Andy Kavanagh, Paul Martin, Adam Waters, Andy Oliver

September 28th                Unicorn Res     1    Hethersett    0

Hethersett defended well but couldn't break down a tough Unicrons defence and the team were not at their best.

TEAM: Ben Shearing, Jacob Morrison, Mike Pugh, Jonny Martin, Paul Baxter, Andy Oliver, Jack Raven, Chris Thurtle, Neil Anderson, Adam Waters, Nick Benfield, Rob Pugh, Lewis Holland

October 12th                   Hethersett    0     Norman Wanderers Res   4

October 19th                 PL Rangers    5      Hethersett    0

A very poor match and a very poor performance from Hethersett who could scarcely string two passes together.

TEAM: Ben Shearing, Craig Chadwick, Jacob Morrison, Jonny Martin, Paul Baxter, Chris Thirtle, Jack Raven, Andy Kavanagh, Paul Martin, Nick Benfield, Andy Oliver, Michael Bates, Mike Pugh

October 26th                Hethersett       6     Felmingham    2

Paul Martin opened the scoring for Hethersett and then Michael Bates hit a first half hat-trick. Excellent goalkeeping from Ben Shearing kept a resurgent Felmingham at bay after the break before Bates got a fourth with Jack Raven completing the scoring for Hethersett and Felmingham notching two consolation goals.

TEAM: Ben Shearing, Craig Chadwick, Jacob Morrison, Jonny Martin, Paul Baxter, Lewis Holland, Mike Pugh, Chris Thirtle, Paul Martin, Michael Bates, Jack Raven, Nick Benfield, Alex White

November 2nd            Aylsham Reserves        1      Hethersett    3

Once again this was an even contest, but the result was the same as in the first game between the two sides. Both teams had chances but Hethersett were more on target with Michael Bates netting twice.

TEAM: Ben Shearing, Craig Chadwick, Jacob Morrison, Jonny Martin, Paul Baxter, Chris Thirtle, Mike Pugh, Will Cook, Paul Martin, Jack Raven, Michael Bates, Adam Waters, Nick Benfield

November 16th        Hethersett    0    Sprowston     1

This was a physical encounter on a sticky pitch and Hethersett found it difficult to penetrate Sprowston's offside trap. The Sprowston defence won most of the aerial battles. Both sides squandered chances.

TEAM: Ben Shearing, Craig Chadwick, Jacob Morrison, Will Cook, Paul Baxter, Lewis Holland, Mike Pugh, Chris Thirtle, Michael Bates, Adam Waters, Jack Raven, Nick Benfield, Paul Martin

Nov 30th                Hethersett      2     Wilco Fastfit     4

Hethersett took the lead after two minutes through Andy Oliver and then a fine Adam Waters goal made it 2-0. Hethersett were cruising and fully in control of the game but then allowed Fastfit to draw level before half-time and poor defending allowed the visitors in for two more goals in the second half.

TEAM: Ben Shearing, Paul Baxter, Jacob Morrison, Jonny Martin, Will Cook, Mick Benfield, Jack Raven, Mike Pugh, Adam Waters, Chris Thirtle, Andy Oliver, Paul Martin, Rob Pugh.

Dec 21st              Dynamo Denmark      1    Hethersett    2

This was a game of few clear cut chances as neither team was able to dominate. Dynamo had the better of the first half but Hethersett led 1-0 until Dynamo equalised only for Michael Bates to score a second half winner.

TEAM: Ben Shearing, Paul Baxter, Jacob Morrison, Jonny Martin, Will Cook, Andy Oliver, Jack Raven, Mike Pugh, Nick Benfield, Michael Bates, Adam Waters, Rob Pugh, Tom Rainsford

January 18th              Ribs of Beef       1      Hethersett   0

A very good game between two competitive teams. Hethersett had plenty of shots on target and played well with the defence outstanding. But they suffered a cruel blow as the home side scored the winner in injury time.

TEAM: Ben Shearing, Mike Pugh, Jacob Morrison, Jonny Martin, Will Cook, Nick Benfield, Jack Raven, Andy Kavanagh, Andy Oliver, Paul Martin, Adam Waters, Lewis Holland

January 25th              Hethersett       1    P.L. Rangers      3

Hethersett missed numerous chances in the first 20 minutes and PL bulldozed their way through the defence to score three goals. Hethersett pushed forward after the break but only had a single goal to show for their efforts.

TEAM: Ben Shearing, Paul Baxter, Jacob Morrison, Will Cook, Jonny Martin, Andy Kavanagh, Jack Raven, Mike Pugh, Michael Bates, Andy Oliver, Adam Waters, Rob Pugh, Chris Thirtle, Paul Martin

February 1st           Hingham       1     Hethersett       8

This was a fine performance with every member of the team giving 100%.

TEAM: Ben Shearing, Jacob Morrison, Rob Pugh, Will Cook, Jonny Martin, Andy Kavanagh, Mike Pugh, Jack Raven, Michael Bates, Adam Waters, Andy Oliver, Paul Baxter, Nick Benfield, Chris Thirtle

February 15th           Sprowston Rovers      2      Hethersett   1

Sprowston took an early lead as Hethersett struggled to adjust to the pace of the game. Hethersett came back into the match and played some good football only to go 2-0 down in the second half. Adam Waters pulled a goal back. Hethersett pressed for an equaliser but failed to find it.

TEAM: Ben Shearing, Paul Baxter, Jacob Morrison, Jonny Martin, Will Cook, Jack Raven, Andy Kavanagh, Chris Thirtle, Grant Worthington, Adam Waters, Andy Oliver, Ross Everington

February 22nd            Hethersett       0   Robs of Beef   4

The first half was even with Ribs of Beef playing a closing down game which stifled Hethersett's passing game. Enforced substitutions at half-time meant a change of formation for Hethersett and Ribs added three more goals to their only goal of the first half.

TEAM: Ben Shearing, Paul Baxter, Jacob Morrison, Jonny Martin, Will Cook, Andy Kavanagh, Jack Raven, Andy Oliver, Michael Bates, Grant Worthington, Adam Waters, Rob Pugh, Ross Everington

March 1st                     Wilco Fast Fit      0      Hethersett     3

An even first half stayed goalless. Hethersett gained in strength as the half progressed and Michael Bates opened the scoring early in the second half. He then added a second and turned in a good pass from Jack Raven to complete his hat-trick.

TEAM: Ben Shearing, Mike Pugh, Jacob Morrison, Jonny Martin, Paul Baxter, Chris Thirtle, Jack Raven, Andy Kavanagh, Grant Worthington, Michael Bates, Adam Waters, Will Cook, Ross Everington

March 8th                      Felmingham      2    Hethersett      1

The wind dominated this game. Felmingham used the long ball effectively to miss out Hethersett's midfield. It was a disappointing performance from the visitors.

TEAM: Tom Rainsford, Mike Pugh, Rob Pugh, Jonny Martin, Paul Baxter, Will Cook, Jack Raven, Chris Thirtle, Michael Bates, Adam Waters, Andy Oliver, Grant Worthington, Ashley High

March 15th                 Hethersett    1       Unicorn Res     1

Hethersett hit the post after just 30 seconds. They grew in strength against a robust Unicorns' defence. They took the lead in the second half only for Unicorns to equalise from a corner.

TEAM: Ben Shearing, Ashley High, Rob Pugh, Jonny Martin, Paul Baxter, Andy Kavanagh, Jack Raven, Mike Pugh, Michael Bates, Andy Oliver, Adam Waters, Grant Worthington, Will Cook

March 22nd           Hethersett         5       Hingham        0

Hethersett took an early lead with two goals from Michael Bates. Jack Raven reacted well to score with a thundering left foot drive to make it 3-0 at half-time. Adam Waters made it four with a free-kick on the edge of the area and Chris Thirtle completed the scoring.

TEAM: Ben Shearing, Ashley High, Jack Raven, Jonny Martin, Paul Baxter, Nick Benfield, Mike Pugh, Chris Thirtle, Michael Bates, Will Cook, Adam Waters, Andy Oliver

March 29th                St Faiths      0      Hethersett     0

This was a valuable point for Hethersett against a team in with a chance of winning the division. It was a very even game and both teams had chances to win it but a draw was a fair result. Hethersett look likely to finish in sixth place - a decent performance.

TEAM: Ben Shearing, Ashley High, Rob Pugh, Jonny Martin, Paul Baxter, Bick Benfield, Jack Raven, John Curtis, Will Cook, Mike Pugh, Andy Oliver, Andy Kavanagh.

April 19th                   Hethersett      1     St Faiths     3

St Faiths took an early two goal lead but Hethersett fought back well and created a number of chances before Adam Waters pulled a goal back before half-time. Hethersett conceded a third when a speculative long shot eluded the 'keeper. St Faiths end up as league champions.

TEAM: Ben Shearing, Jacob Morrison, Rob Pugh, Jonny Martin, Paul Baxter, Andy Kavanagh, Jack Raven, Mike Pugh, Will Cook, Adam Waters, Andy Oliver, Ross Everington, Tom Rainsford, Nick Benfield.
