September 6th Firside 3 Hethersett 1
Hethersett played well in their first competitive under 11s match and should be very proud of themselves. They have stepped up and made the transition to 11 a-side football in a very organised manner. The match started brightly and both teams quickly settled down in an even game. Firside took the lead after 15 minutes. Hethersett responded well and Tyler White was causing problems for the Firside defence with his pace and was brought down on three occasions. Hethersett continued to press and played a lovely through ball to Tyler who used his pace to fend off two defnders but was then brought down in the penalty area. Harry Jones stepped up, kept his composure and burried the ball in the top right corner for the equaliser. Firside got their second just before half time. Hethersett started brightly in the second half and were pressing for the equaliser. Firside hit the bar before grabbing their third to secure the points. Harry Jones received the man of the match award but their were also excellent performances from Daniel Mehtab, Bradley Tillett, Tyler White and George Fisher. Martin Schiller who went off injured had a good game.
TEAM: George Fisher, Martin Schiller, Bradley Tillett, Joe Moorhouse, Declan Dowe, Tyler White, Harry Jones, Jayden Brookes, Jasper Williams, Daniel Mehtab, Oliver Warrington, Fin Smith, Charlie Frazer
September 13th Hethersett 4 Dereham 4
This was a very entertaining game of football. The match started brightly & both teams quickly settled down in an even game. Dereham took the lead after 15 minutes but Hethersett responded well & found the equaliser. Both teams played good football & Hethersett played a fine ball through to Tyler White who shrugged off 2 defenders, kept his composure to score a fine goal to put Hethersett in the lead. Deraham found the equaliser just before half time. Both teams started well in the second half. Hethersett were a well organised team. Dereham took the lead but shortly after Tyler White was brought down in the box and a penalty was awared. Harry Jones spot kick was a good one but the keeper did well to save it but Hethersett grabbed the equaliser from the immediate corner. Dereham were fortunate to grab a fourth but Hethersett did not give up & continued to press & were rewarded with another corner which they managed to score from. Five minutes remained on the clock & Hethersett continued to force the play & deserved the 3 points. Man of of the match went to Tyler who put in another superb performance.
TEAM: George Fisher, Martin Schiller, Bradley Tillett, Joe Moorhouse, Declan Dowe, Jack Freeman, Harry Jones, Jasper Williams, Daniel Mehtab, Tyler White, Fin Smith, Josh Lacey, Oliver Warrington
September 20th Wymondham 6 Hethersett 0
Hethersett were out played and out classed by a very good Wymondham side who were very well organised. Hethersett were second best to every ball and struggled to play there passing game. The Wymondham defence and midfielders were very srong in the air and stopped Hethersett from settling down into their normal stride. Hethersett were 2 - 0 down at half time and conceded a further 4 goals during the second half. Hethersett hit the post on 2 occasions and with a little bit of luck would have scored a couple of goals but luck was certainly against them. Despite the heavy defeat Bradley Tillett, Harry Jones and Tyler White put in a good performance. Hethersett will learn from this defeat and will improve in what is proving to be a very tough A league.
TEAM: George Fisher, Martin Schiller, Bradley Tillett, Joe Moorhouse, Declan Dowe, Jack Freeman, Harry Jones, Jayden Brooker, Daniel Mehtab, Tyler White, Harry Denny, Eric Svenson, Fin Smith, Jasper Williams
October 11th Rockland 6 Hethersett 1
Hethersett were missing 4 key players from their squad due to sickness. Despite this they play well and the scoreline was an unfair reflection of the game. Rocklands who are currently top of the A league with 4 straight wins were quick off the blocks and scored 20 seconds from the start. Hethersett soon settled down but Rocklands found a second goal after 12 minutes. Their third goal was a gift due to poor communication between centre back Bradley Tillett and keeper George Fisher. Hethersett hit back with a superb free kick 5 minutes before half time. Hethersett missed a penalty but it had to be retaken because a Rocklands player went into the box early. The second attempt was well saved. Rocklands went on to score a further 3 goals thanks to some poor defensive play by hethersett. One of the goals was clearly off-side but the flag did not go up which summed up Hethersett's day.
TEAM: George Fisher, Jack Freeman, Bradley Tillett, Jayden Brookes, Josh Lacey, Ross Simpson, Harry Jones, Daniel Mehtab, Harry Denny, Tyler White, Oliver Warrington, Declan Dowe
October 18th Hethersett 8 Costessey 0 (friendly)
Hethersett did not have a league game this weekend and therefore took the opportunity to play Costessy from the B league. Hethersett started very brightly and were on the attack the moment the game started. They kept attacking throughout the first half and went into the break 6 goals up. The central defensive partnership of Jayden Brooker and Bradley Tillett quickly sniffed out any threat from the Costessy strikers and on the one occasion when Costessy did get through, Hethersett's keeper Fin Smith who was making his goalkeeping debute was on hand. Hethersett made a number of changes in the second half to experiment with the team and despite Costessy putting in a better second half performance Hethersett scored 2 further goals. The match was played in good spirit by both teams. It was a very good all round team performance with goals coming from Ross Simpson (2), Harry Jones (2) and man of the match Harry Denny who hit the back of the net 4 times. Hethersett should have hit double figures but were very pleased with the result. Jayden Brooker was outstanding in defence and other players that deserve a mention are Joseph Sparkes and Charlie Frazer. It's back to league action next weekend where Hethersett aim to build on this performance.
TEAM: Fin Smith, Martin Schiller, Bradley Tillett, Jayden Brooker, Daniel Cook, Jack Freeman, Harry Jones,
Tyler White, Daniel Mehtab, Ross Simpson, Harry Denny, George Fisher, Charlie Frazer, Joseph Sparkes,
Joe Moorhouse, Ellie Bensley
October 25th Hethersett 2 Taverham 3
Hethersett were missing 3 key players, their left back, left midfielder and right back and as a consequence did not perform to their best. The game itself was an even contest with both teams creating chances. Taverham went into the lead 1-0 up due to poor defending. Taverham opened up a 2 goal lead shortly into the second half but Hethersett kept going and pulled a goal back with a well taken shot from Harry Denny. Taverham scored a third goal and Tyler White made it 3-2 with five minutes to go but they couldn’t equalize although Daniel Mehtab went close. Harry Jones and Tyler White had fine games but man of the match was Joe Moorhouse who was solid in defence.

November 8th Mulbarton 0 Hethersett 8
Hethersett played very well with key players performing to their usual high standards. Hethersett had to defend for the opening 5 minutes but quickly settled down. Hethersett played a number of through balls to the forwards but the Mulbarton keeper was quickly of his line and pulled of 3 very good saves. It was only a matter of trime before Hethersett scored and after 10 minutes Harry Denny latched on to a through ball to slot the ball home. Hethersett continued to press and thanks to a Harry Denny Hatrick, went into the break with a 3 - 0 lead although Mulbarton created 3 good chances but couldn't find the back of the net. Hethersett could have scored more in the first half but were denied by some fine saves from the Mulbarton keeper. Hethersett kept their discipline in the second half and played much better and were solid in defence and organised in the middle of the park. Daniel Mehtab added Hethersett's forth with a fine shot from just inside the box. Hethersett continued to create chances and Tyler White was rewarded with a hatrick for his consitent hard work. Hethersett's other goal came from Ross Simpson who won the ball just outside the Mulbarton box taking on 2 defenders and sloting the ball home for what was a wonderful individual goal. Hethersett were content with the 8-0 win and appluaded Mulbarton for their never say die attitude. Man of the match was awarded to Hethersett's Tyler White for yet another superb performance.
TEAM - George Fisher, Martin Schiller, Bradley Tillett, Jayden Brooker, Joe Moorhouse, Ross Simpson, Harry Jones, Daniel Mehtab, Daniel Cook, Tyler White, Harry Denny, Jack Freeman, Jasper Williams
November 15th Hethersett 0 Old Catton 10
Hethersett were outclassed and outplayed against the league leaders Old Catton. Hethersett did not perform to their usual standards and defensively were poor. Despite this heavy defeat there were good performances from Tyler White, Harry Denny and Harry Jones. George Fisher, Jasper Williams and keeper Fin Smith all had good games. Harry Denny had a cracking shot from outside the box which hit the underside of the bar but was judged to have not crossed the line. Hethersett will bounce back and learn from this defeat.
TEAM - Fin Smith, Martin Schiller, Bradley Tillett, Jayden Brooker, Joe Moorhouse, Ross Simpson, Harry Jones, Daniel Mehtab, Daniel Cook, Tyler White, Harry Denny, Jack Freeman, Jasper Williams, George Fisher.
November 29th Hethersett 1 Lakeford 5
Hethersett were a goal down after just three minutes and four down by half-time despite playing some good football. They created the better chances in the second half but Lakeford made it five 15 minutes from the end. Harry Denny scored a deserved consolation goal.

December 13th Dereham 2 Hethersett 0
This was an entertaining game with both teams playing some very good football. Hethersett were well organised in defence with Bradley Tillett and Decland Dowe both having very good games. The midfield worked very hard and Jasper Williams produced his best display of the season on the right hand side of midfield. Hethersett keeper Josh Lacey did well in goal but was slow to react to Dereham's first goal which was scored from inside the box. Both teams continued to create chances and the substitutions were well used. Hethersett were unlucky with Tyler white hitting the post. Five minutes after that chance. Dereham scored their second. Hethersett continued to press and found the back of the net but the lineman controversially ruled the goal as off side. Hethersett deserved to take at least a point from this game. However, they will take a lot of positives from this performance which was one of their best displays of the season. Bradley Tillett was awarded man of the match with Jasper Williams and Decland Dowe being a close second. Well done Hethersett. Time to relax and enjoy the two week Christmas break

January 24th Drayton 6 Hethersett 0
Due to the Christmas period and the bad weather, this was Hethersett's first game in almost 2 months. Although the team trained yesterday, it was clear to see that they were a little rusty. Hethersett got off to the worse possible start and found themselves 2 goals down within the first 5 minutes. Both goals came from corners which Hethersett simply did not deal with. Hethersett settled down and started to play their game but unfortunately conceded a further goal just before the break. Drayton scored a further 3 goals in the second half to finish off 6 - 0 deserved winners. Despite the defeat there was some good individual performances with Bradley Tillett deservedly receiving the man of the match award. Hethersett first choice keeper Fin Smith was not available for selection due to sickness and was missed. Hethersett will bounce back next week.

February 7th Hethersett 0 Rocklands 15
Hethersett were missing a number of key players for this fixture with Rocklands who are riding high in the A league. Hethersett's 1st, 2nd and 3rd choice keepers were not available nor were a key defender and midfielder. This showed and Hethersett put in a very poor performance against a very good Rocklands side. Hethersett have now played half their league games and are finding life in the A league very tough. They have picked up 4 points from 10 games and on this form will only stay up if they take points from their game with bottom of the league Mulbarton and their 2 games with Thorpe who are just above them in the league. The Management are now making a number of changes to the squad and will give others players a chance to prove themselves. Training sessions on a Saturday morning will focus on the key areas where improvement/development id needed. Man of the Match went to Hethersett's Martin Schiller who volunteered to go in goal minutes before the game. Well done Martin, you are a credit to the team.

February 14th Hethersett 4 Mulbarton 3
Hethersett put in a good team performance against a very good spirited Mulbarton team. Hethersett started slowly and found themselves a goal down due to some poor defending. They quickly settled down and were battling well in midfield breaking up most of the Mulbarton attack and created a number of goal scoring opportunities. Tyler White and Harry Denny grabbed a couple of the goals to give Hethersett a half time lead. Mulbarton equalised shortly after the break and Hethersett had to raise their game in the second half to stay on top. Daniel Cook added a third but once again Mulbarton cam back with another equaliser. Harry Denny found the winner and their were other opportunities to finish the game but Daniel Mehtab, Charlie Frazer and Harry Jones could not capitalise. Hethersett kept Mulbarton at bay for the remaining 10 minutes and were deserved winners. The Mulbarton coaches were the perfect example of how coaches at grass roots level should conduct themselves. Hethersett wish Mulbarton the best of luck for the rest of the season.

March 7th Hethersett 2 Wymondham 4
Hethersett put in one of their best performances of the
season and were very unlucky to not take something from this game.
This was the first time in a long time that Hethersett were able to
put out their strongest side. Hethersett played some lovely football
and their passing and movement was a joy to watch. Hethersett keeper
Fin Smith pulled off an outstanding save and was applauded by all
supporters and coaches. Hethersett should have been 2 goals up but
against the run of play found themselves 2 goals down. Despite this
Hethersett continued to play to a very good standard and managed to
level the score with 10 minutes to go. Hethersett almost took the lead
but straight from that attack Wynmondahm attached and scored their
third goal. Hethersett pushed forward for the equaliser but with
minutes remaining Wynmondahm grabbed a fourth goal to take all 3
points. This performance proved that with their strongest team they
are a match for most of the teams in this very competitive A league. The parents praised
Hethersett's performance. Fin Smith received the man of the match

March 14th Taverham 3 Hethersett 2
Hethersett put in another good performance and started the game exceptionally well and settled down very quickly. They were playing some good football spreading the ball and making very good use of the wide men. Hethersett were first to the ball and were putting good pressure on the Taverham defence. This pressure was rewarded after 8 minutes when a Taverham defender attempted to clear the ball but it ended up in the back of his own net. Hethersett took a 2 goal advantage after 10 minutes when the ball was played out wide on the left and right winger Josh Lacey got on the end of the cross to score his first goal for the team. Hethersett controlled the first half until the 29th minute when Taverham managed to get behind the Hethersett defence to grab an important goal at a crucial time of the game. Taverham started the second half a lot brighter and found an equaliser 2 minutes into the second half. Both teams continued to create chances and Hethersett's Harry Denny was causing problems for the Taverham defence and Tyler White missed a great opportunity when he was one on one with the keeper but somehow the ball went wide. Fin Smith also pulled off a great save tipping the ball over the bar. Taverham grabbed what proved to be the winner on 55 minutes and although Hethersett pushed for the deserved equaliser they ran out of time. Hethersett are playing good football and the future looks bright. Josh Lacey received the man of the match award.

March 21st Hethersett 6 Thorpe 2
put in another very good performance and again started the game
exceptionally well and settled down very quickly. They were playing
some good football and were winning the majority of the balls.
Hethersett were rewarded with a free kick just outside the area and
Jack Freeman stepped up to produce a great strike. Thorpe battled well
and found an equaliser from a good strike from outside the box.
Hethersett went into the break 2 - 1 up thanks to a superb long
through ball from Jack Freeman which Tyler slotted home. Hethersett
went 3 - 1 up thanks to an excellent finish from Harry Denny. Thorpe
did not give up and were gifted a lifeline due to a misunderstanding
in the Hethersett defence. Jack Freeman continued to find space on the
left hand side and was producing some fine balls to the two strikers
and his efforts paid off when Harry Denny made it 4 - 2 on 51 minutes.
Hethersett were too strong for Thorpe and were producing some good
football and putting their opposition under pressure at all times.
Harry Denny got onto the end of yet another Jack Freeman ball to put
the home side 5 - 2 up and 5 minutes later Harry slotted home his
fourth of the game and Hethersett's sixth to round off a very good
day. It was a good solid disciplined performance by Hethersett. Jack
Freeman was outstanding and Harry Denny was awarded man of the match
for his 4 goals.

March 28th Thorpe 10 Hethersett 3
Hethersett put a poor display against a Thorpe side that they had beat 6 - 2 the previous week. It was clear to see that Thorpe were fired up for this game and were hungry for the sweet taste of victory. Hethersett found themselves 5 - 1 down at half time and despite a slightly better second half the match finished 10 - 3. Hethersett are disjointed with this poor display as victory would have put them 4 points clear of Thorpe who were in the relegation zone at the start of the day. Instead Thorpe has moved a point clear of Hethersett who are now sitting in the relegation zone. It is difficult to see where Hethersett will pick up points from their remaining 5 games, as they have to play the top 4 teams. The next 5 weeks are going to be tough and Hethersett will have to produce their best if they are to play A league football next season. Man of the match went to the superb Tyler White.

April 11th Lakeford 7 Hethersett 0
started well against a very organised Lakeford side who are currently
sitting in second place in the table and have huge hopes of winning the
title. Unfortunately, Hethersett were missing their first choice keeper,
3 of the their key defenders and a key midfielder due to the Easter
period. Hethersett's star player, Tyler White, went in goal and produced
an outstanding display and once again showed the talent of this young
boy. Despite Tyler's excellent display the makeshift defence made too
many errors and Lakeford managed to hit the back of the net on 7
occasions. Hethersett have 4 more games left to avoid relegation to the
B league. Life in the A league is tough but it is even tougher when you
do not have your starting 11. Despite this there were good performances
from Tyler White, Harry Jones, Joe Morehouse and Decland Dowe.
TEAM - Tyler White, George Fisher, Josh Lacey, Joe Moorhouse, Declan Dowe, Jasper Williams, Daniel Mehtab, Charile Frazer, Harry Jones, Bradley Tillett, Harry Denny.
April 18th Rocklands 7 Hethersett 2
Hethersett started the game very brightly and opened the scoring with a fine strike from Jack Freeman. Hethersett matched Rocklands for the first 15 minutes until they found their equaliser which was a well taken goal. Rocklands found another 2 goals before the break to take a 3 - 1 lead. Hethersett piled on the pressure and had a shot cleared off the line and a header pushed over for a corner. However, despite it being a corner the referee blew the whistle for half time! Hethersett played well in the second half but due to some poor defending and goalkeeping Rocklands took a 6 - 1 lead. Hethersett continued to work hard and found a second from a fine finish from Harry Denny. Jack Freeman was unlucky not to score his second with a fine free kick which hit the post. Unfortunately, the rebound did not fall to a Hethersett player. It was felt that the additional time added on was played unnecessarily and as a result Rocklands scored an undeserved goal to make the final score 7 - 3 which did not reflect the match. Hethersett man of the match award went to Joe Moorhouse. Decland Dowe and Jack Freeman both put in a very good performance.
TEAM - Fin Smith, Martin Schiller, Jayden Brooker, Joe Moorhouse, Declan Dowe, Jack Freeman, Daniel Mehtab, Harry Jones, Jasper Williams, Tyler White, Harry Denny, Charlie Fraser
April 21st Hethersett 1 Firside 4
Hethersett for the third game running started the game well and matched their opponents in every part of the pitch. However, Firside took the lead on 12 minutes and grabbed a second from a well taken corner. Hethersett continued to work hard and created chances and after a spell of pressure the ball fell to Daniel Mehtab who managed to get it under control before unleashing a well taken volley into the top left hand corner of the net. The second half was an even game and both sides continued to create chances. Hethersett had a great opportunity to equalise but unfortunately Oliver Warrington's header went agonisingly wide and Daniel Mehtab stretching leg could not meet the ball. Firside scored again from another fine corner and added their fourth in the last five minutes of the game. Firside remain in 6th place and Hethersett remain in the bottom two with two games to play. Hethersett must find a win from their remaining 2 games if they are to stay in the A league. This game was played in a very good spirit and both sets of managers should be proud of their players. Hethersett's Jayden Brooker received the man of the match award.
TEAM - Fin Smith, Martin Schiller, Jayden Brooker, Joe Moorhouse, Declan Dowe, Jack Freeman, Daniel Mehtab, Harry Jones, Jasper Williams, Tyler White, Harry Denny, Daniel Cook
April 25th Old Catton 6 Hethersett 0
Hethersett were missing six key players that would normally have made the starting 14. However, the players that came in worked very hard and performed well against an Old Catton team that were top of the league and needed a win to be crowned champions of the under 11's A league. Hethersett's star player Tyler White went in goal for only the second time this season and performed heroics between the sticks and pulled off save after save throughout the game. Catton created a number of chances and Hethersett continued to put players behind the ball to keep them at bay. A couple of well taken goals put the league leaders 2 - 0 up at half time. The second half continued in the same way as the first half with Catton creating the chances and Hethersett defending with their backs to the wall. Hethersett did manage to create a few opportunities but Catton cleverly sniffed these out. Hethersett were tiring and Catton managed another 4 goals to make the final score 6 - 0 to the home team. There were celebrations at the final whistle as Catton was crowned champions. Hethersett applauded Catton on their success, as they were deserved champions. The game was played in a very good spirit and the Catton supporters were friendly and welcoming. Tyler White received the Hethersett Man of the Match award and was also praised by the Catton team and supporters.

April 28th Hethersett 2 Drayton 4
Hethersett completed their first season of playing 11 a-side football with a good display against a Drayton side sitting comfortably in 4th place. Once again Hethersett started well and kept the score line goalless until the 12th minute. Drayton scored their second goal on 22 minutes thanks to some poor defending by the home side. Hethersett pulled a goal back before the break thanks to some great play on the right hand side where Tyler White managed to get past a couple of players before releasing an excellent cross which Harry Denny got on the end off to strike the ball home. Drayton scored their third goal 10 minutes into the second half and Tyler White produced a fine strike shortly afterwards to keep Hethersett in the game. Both teams were evenly matched and chances were being created at either end. Martin Schiller was have an outstanding game in defence and was quickly sniffing everything out on the left hand side. Drayton grabbed their 4th goal which killed the game and ensured the 3 points went to the visitors. Man of the match went to Hethersett's Martin Schiller. Hethersett needed a win to avoid relegation to the B league but on this performance and some tightening up in defence it will not be long before Hethersett are back in the A league. Hethersett manager Sham Mehtab congratulated the players on their effort this season which at times was a joy to watch. Sham also thanked the parents for their continued support.

June 6th Hethersett 4 Mulbarton 6
Mulbarton won the annual Lee Thompson Plate. Hethersett started brightly but found themselves 2 goals down due to some poor defending. Both teams continued to create chances and Harry Denny scored a couple of goals before the break. The second half started as entertaining as the first half and Mulbarton found themselves 4 - 2 up within a short spell. Hethersett's Denny scored his hatrick to make it 4 - 3 to the visitors but Mulbarton managed to score a fifth 5 minutes later. Oliver Warrington pulled one back to make it 5 - 4 and with 10 minutes left on the clock Hethersett continued to press for a deserved equaliser. Hethersett keeper pulled off a acouple of fine saves and with only minutes remaining on the clock and Hethersett pushing forward to try and force extra time Mulbarton broke away and the scored that all important 6th goal to secure the victory. Nulbarton lifted the plate and winner trophies foe each player while Hethersett had to settle for the runners up medals.
