TEAMS/REPORTS

Sept 6th  Hethersett     1     Drayton    1

The game was played in good spirit by both teams. Hethersett had the better possession but Drayton were dangerous on the break.

TEAM - Jake Keeley, Daniel Dalmay, Dominic Frost, Jamie Springall, Adam Edwards, Jonathan Bailey, Thomas Monk, Dean Thirtle, Kieran Davies, Jack Wright, Darren Ford

Sept 13th   Nelson     1     Hethersett    4

The referee brandished a number of yellow cards very quickly although the game wasn't a particularly nasty one. Hethersett played good passing football especially in the second half. We really felt for the Nelson boy who scored the own goal.

TEAM: Harley Hammill, Daniel Dalmay, Dominic Frost, Ben Wilford, Adam Edwards, Jonathan Bailey, Jake Keeley, Dean Thirtle, Kieran Davies, Jack Wright, Darren Ford

Sept 20th     Hethersett      2      Mulbarton    3

Hethersett started with ten men and scored quickly. Then we gave away two goals from high/long balls. Early in the second half Hethersett equalised but soon conceded a similar goal to the first two. Then Darren got injured and we had to play with 9 men. Despite of this, it was an even game and any of the teams could have scored some more goals but it remained 2-3.

The game was played in the right spirit in the first half but the Mulbarton players got increasingly aggressive and verbal during the second half (both towards the Hethersett players and the referee).

TEAM: Harley Hammil, Daniel Dalmay, Dominic Frost, Jamie Springall, Adam Edwards, Jonathan Bailey, Darren Ford, Dean Thirtle, Kieran Davies, Ben Wilford,

Sept 27th Drayton   4    Hethersett    1

Hethersett passed the ball very well and had most of the possession but Drayton defended well and scored from the breaks.

There were several malicious tackles from the Drayton players.

TEAM: Harley Hammil, Daniel Dalmay, Dominic Frost, Jamie Springall, Adam Edwards, Jonathan Bailey, Darren Ford, Dean Thirtle, Jake Keeley, Ben Wilford, Jack Wright

October 4th          Hethersett     3     Watton   1

Both teams worked tirelessly and Hethersett won the match with two late goals, one of which was an unfortunate late goal. It was a game played in excellent spirit.

TEAM: Harley Hammil, Daniel Dalmay, Dominic Frost, Jamie Springall, Adam Edwards, Jonathan Bailey, Darren Ford,Dean Thirtle, Kieran Davies, Ben Wilford, Jack Wright, Bence Csimma

October 11th        Scole        2      Hethersett     2

Both teams worked very hard and Hethersett went 2-0 up, although slightly against the run of play. Scole passed the ball very well and played good attacking football but Hethersett defended well and were dangerous on the counter attacks. The referee got the big decisions right (including the last minute penalty to Scole) except the penalty that was not given to Hethersett when Darren Ford was clearly pulled back within the penalty area. The Scole linesman also disallowed two goals for offside, which seemed a bit dubious but nevertheless Scole deserved the draw.

The sporting points are quite low again, this time not because of the players (they were quite nice actually) but because of the supporters. It seemed like Scole never signed up for the Respect campaign. They challenged the referee's every decision and spoke about the Hethersett players in a completely unacceptable manner.

TEAM: Harley Hammil, Daniel Dalmay, Dominic Frost, Jamie Springall, Adam Edwards, Jonathan Bailey, Darren Ford, Dean Thirtle, Kieran Davies, Ben Wilford, Jack Wright, Jake Keeley

October 18th        Morley      1     Hethersett    4

Morley scored first but Hethersett woke up after 10-15 minutes and started to play much better. The referee was very strict (i.e. no physical contact) but also fair. Morley passed the ball quite well and they were unlucky with the own goal. They made the match a good game and they were the nicest team we have played so far this year (including the supporters and coaches).

TEAM: Harley Hammil, Daniel Dalmay, Dominic Frost, Jamie Springall, Adam Edwards, Jonathan Bailey, Darren Ford, Dean Thurtle, Bence Csimma, Ben Wilford, Jake Keeley

October 25th        Hethersett       5     Mattishall    2

Hethersett started very well and scored an early goal (2nd minute). This gave us confidence and went on to a 4-0 lead. Towards the end we gave away two sloppy goals but at the end it was a comfortable win. Credit to Mattishall, they never gave up and battled until the last minute. Both teams were very disciplined and the young referee did well again. (the 5th goal was an own goal)

TEAM - Harley Hammill, Daniel Dalmay, Dominic Frost, Jamie Springall, Adam Edwards, Jonathan Bailey, Darren Ford, Dean Thirtle, Jack Wright, Ben Wilford, Jake Keeley

November 8th      Norman       8         Hethersett    4

TEAM - Harley Hammil, Dominic Frost, Jamie Springall, Ben Wilford, Kieran Davies, Darren Ford, Jonathan Bailey, Dean Thirtle, Jake Keeley, Adam Edwards, Daniel Dalmay, Jamie Keane

November 15th      Horsford      1      Hethersett    2

Hethersett  became the first team to beat Horsford this season thanks to an excellent performance.

TEAM: Harley Hammil, Daniel Dalmay, Dominic Frost, Jamie Springall, Henry Waineright, Jonathan Bailey, Darren Ford, Dean Thurtle, Aaron Bradley, Ben Wilford, Jake Keeley, Jamie Keane.

November 22nd       Nelson       2    Hethersett   3 (after extra time)

It was a very close game, Nelson scored first after a goalless first half but then Hethersett scored twice within two minutes. Nelson equalised 10 minutes from the end to take the game to extra time. Both teams struggled to play good football because of the strong wind but Hethersett scored the winner two minutes before the end of extra time. Both teams worked very hard and a draw would have been a fair result, it's a pity somebody had to lose.

TEAM: Harley Hamill, Daniel Dalmay, Dominic Frost, Ben Wilford, Adam Edwards, Jonathan Bailey, Jake Keeley, Dean Thirtle, Kieran Davies, Aaron Bradley, Darren Ford, Jamie Keane, Jamie Springall

November 29th          Rocklands       3      Hethersett   2

Hethersett were unlucky to lose after hitting the post and missing a number of good chances. They also gave away some soft goals.

TEAM: Harley Hamill, Daniel Dalmay, Dominic Frost, Ben Wilford, Jamie Springall, Jonathan Bailey, Jake Keeley, Dean Thirtle, Henry Wainwright, Aaron Bradley, Darren Ford, Jamie Keans

December 6th               Hellesdon     5       Hethersett    1

TEAM: Harley Hamill, Aaron Bradley, Dominic Frost, Jamie Springall, Dean Thirtle, Daniel Dalmay, Ben Wilford, Darren Ford, Harry Wainright, Jonathan Bailey, Jake Keeley, Jamie Keene, Kieran Davies

December 13th          Watton      1    Hethersett    15

The Watton manager deserves a lot of credit. He run the line with no other parents supporting the team and of course had to cheer up the boys at half time (0-7) and at the end of the game. We were in a similar position last year in the A league and I know how difficult it is (at least I had help from other parents). Anyway, it was a good win for Hethersett and although you always want to keep a clean sheet, I was happy when Watton finally scored at least one.

TEAM - Harley Hamill, Kieran Davies, Dominic Frost, Ben Wilford, Jamie Springall, Jonathan Bailey, Jake Keeley, Dean Thirtle, Henry Wainwright, Aaron Bradley, Darren Ford, Jamie Keane, Adam Edwards

January 17th                Mulbarton     3      Hethersett   8

TEAM:  Harvey Hammil, Kieron Davies, Daniel Dalmay, Ben Wilford, Jamie Springall, Jonathan Bailey, Jake Keeley, Dean Thirtle, Henry Wainwright, Aaron Bradley, Darren Ford, Jamie Keane, Dominic Frost

January 24th         Hethersett    4    Morley     2

Morley equalised twice while Hethersett missed a lot of very good chances. Eventually Hethersett scored twice in the last ten minutes to secure a deserved but hard earned victory.

TEAM - Harley Hammil, Kieran Davies, Daniel Dalmay, Adam Edwards, Jamie Springall, Jonathan Bailey, Jake Keeley, Dean Thirtle, Henry Wainwright, Aaron Bradley, Darren Ford, Dominic Frost.

February 7th        Mattishall    4      Hethersett   3

Hethersett had only ten players due to injuries and illnes but it was still a very even game. Both teams were up front at some stage of the game and both teams had opportunities to win it. At the end Mattishall took their chance a few minutes from the end but the ten players of Hethersett deserve a lot of praise, too.

TEAM - Harley Hammill, Jamie Keane, Daniel Dalmay, Adam Edwards, Jamie Springall, Jonathan Bailey, Darren Ford, Dean Thirtle, Henry Wainwright, Aaron Bradley

March 7th               Hethersett   3        Nelson   0

Hethersett dominated the first half and scored two goals from corners. Nelson came back strongly but Hethersett kept them out and went on to score a third.

TEAM - Harley Hammill, Jamie Keane, Dom Frost, Adam Edwards, Jamie Springall, Jonathan Bailey, Ben Wilford, Dean Thirtle, Harry Wainwright, Jake Keeley, Daniel Dalmay

March 14th               Hethersett     3      Scole    1

Hethersett had only ten players due to injuries and other commitments but kept the first half goalless. However, they did concede early at the second half and Scole looked like winning the game comfortably. But the Hethersett players had other ideas and they displayed an incredible performance in the second half scoring three goals in the process and winning the game 3-1 against a very good Scole side. It was good to see the Scole supporters clapping the Hethersett players at the end.

TEAM - Harley Hammill, Jamie Keane, Dominic Frost, Adam Edwards, Jamie Springall, Jonathan Bailey, Ben Wilford, Dean Thurtle, Harry Wainwright, Daniel Dalmay

March 28th                  Hethersett      1     Horsford     4

TEAM - Jake Keeley, Jamie Keane, Dominic Frost, Adam Edwards, Jamie Springall, Jonathan Bailey, Ben Wilford, Dean Thirtle, Harry Wainwright, Daniel Dalmay, Aaron Bradley

April 25th                       Hethersett      4     Rocklands    3

Hethersett again just had ten players including an injured outfield player in goal (because the regular keeper was injured so were several other players). We were 2-1 down at half time and didn't look as we could get something out of the game. But the boys were fantastic in the second half. The workrate, passing and finishing were superb and the team deservedly ensured third place.

TEAM - Jake Keeley, Jamie Keane, Dominic Frost, Adam Edwards, Jamie Springall, Jonathan Bailey, Ben Wilford, Darren Ford, Henry Wainwright, Daniel Dalmay
