Hethersett 1 Stalham  5

Despite the score line and the fact we only had 12 available players due to holiday, work and first team commitments this result was not as bad as it looked, we kicked off and went straight on to attack with Rhianne missing the post by inches. Stalham then hit a long ball over the defence and was touched in by their centre forward, the second goal was also a copy of first, Hearts were playing the more attractive football and scored a deserved goal when Hannah Dugdale smashed the ball home. We nearly equalised from kick off when Rhianne hit the far post .just before half time.

A hard working Stalham side scored another breakaway goal. just on half time we once again hit the post after a great shot from katie  Despite being on top for most of second half and hitting bar or post a further four times and also missing a penalty Stalham managed to score 2 more goals with the same old long ball behind the defence, this is something we must learn to deal with.

What a difference a week makes, playing against a very strong swanton team and again with only 12 available players the hearts put up a great performance, attack after attack had swanton on the back foot for all of first half ,and aftre 35 mins hannah dugdale playing her last match before going  to uni scored her second goal of season after good work by the back in form lauren matthews, and katie swann. The swanton keeper had an unbelievable first half making save after save.

The second half continued much the same with hearts on top for the first 20 mins, but then swanton started to get back into match after hearts started to tire.  8 mins from the end after a breakaway swanton unbelievably equalized. without exaggeration it could have been 12 - 1 but for a great performance by the swanton keeper.

Hethersett   2    Wymondham    0

Hethersett Athletic Ladies Hearts finally got the result, their flowing football deserved in a hard fought match against a strong and very determined Wymondham side It was a very even first half with both sides giving 100% and playing some nice football. Wymondham were slightly unlucky to go a goal behind after a cross was headed goalwards by a defender leaving Hannah Waters a tap in for her first of the season. Katie Swann was brought down by the Wymondham keeper, and Lauren Matthews stepped up to slot home the resulting penalty Matthews hit the bar after the break but there were no more goals.

TEAM - Rhianne Brister, Vicky Swann, Stephanie Paxton, Megan Cletheroe, Hayley Demmen, Katie Swann, Polly Tarrant, Katie Carpenter, Lauren Matthews, Hannah Waters, Lizzy Street, Rachel Wharton.

Player of the match selected by Hockering- Vicky Swann

The match started in the pouring rain, with four players making their debut. Despite this Hearts settled down quickly and were by far the better side in the first half and led 2-0 at half time, with  Polly Tarrant and Hannah Waters scoring. Despite having lumps kicked out of them most of the match, the girls kept making chances. after 75 minutes the game had to be abandoned when Rachel Wharton slipped on the wet surface and badly damaged her ankle, so an ambulance was called.

Hearts fielding the most inexperienced side we have put out put in a creditable performance against a very strong Acle team. The first half was very much even and at half time the score was 0-0. Acle started to take the game to the Hearts and scored 3 times as our young team got tired. However, they kept battling and scored after a great run by vicki, set up lauren to slot the ball home. Acle scored a fourth just before the end. Once again things are going against us with 2 of the girls picking up long term injuries. This means the ladies squad have at present 14 girls unavailable for selection due to injuries picked up this season.

November 7th        Hethersett     6    Coltishall Jaguars    3

Hethersett Athletic Ladies Hearts got back to winning ways with a 6-3 victory over Coltishall Jaguars. Hannah Waters rediscovered her scoring touch with a hat-trick and Nikki Wigg, who has returned to the club, also weighed in with a triple. Hearts with a few players back from injury, and new signing Nikki Wigg making her debut, started really well  and took the lead after 10 minutes ,following a good move down the left involving Katie, Lisa and Hannah, with Hannah scoring with a great shot from edge of area. After 30 mins after some good work between Nikki and Hannah ,Hannah slotted home the second. ht 2-0.  After the break Coltishall came back into the game scoring 2 quick goals, but Hearts kept playing their game and soon restored their two goal lead with Nikki scoring her first  and Hannah scoring her first hat-trick of season. Coltishall kept playing some good football resulting in them pulling back another goal 4-3. then came the deciding moment of the game Colts broke away and had the ball in the net which looked like they had equalized , only for it to be ruled out for offside. Hearts then took control for last 15 mins adding two more goals by Nikki for a well deserved hatrick, one being a spectacular overhead kick..ft 6-3. a thoroughly enjoyable match played in great spirit, well done to both teams.

November 14th                Great Yarmouth    0       Hethersett    2

In a fiercely fought first half and in atrocious conditions, we took the game to Yarmouth and should have been two goals up by half time. The second half carried on in the same vein
and we took the lead 10 mins from end when a great through ball from Rachel put Hannah clear and she calmly slotted the ball past the onrushing goalie  Five minutes later after some fine individual play from Hannah she created herself enough room to score the second.
