September 25th          Hethersett     0   Watton    6

Hethersett started the better side and were awarded a penalty after 15 minutes of play. Harry Denny fired his shot over the bar which was a sign that it simply wasn't going to be their day. Watton went into the break 2 - 0 up and scored a further 4 goals in the second half. Hethersett created chances but missed 4 golden opportunities to score as well as hitting the cross bar. Hethersett underperformed as a team and as idividuals which was a shame as a win would have put Hethersett top of the table. Hethersett can put things right with a good performance when they travel to  as Watton. MOM: Daniel Cook.

October 9th                         Hethersett     5   St Andrew's    4

Hethersett showed superb team spirit with a very good performance against a well organised St Andrew's team. Hethersett opened the scoring through Martin Schiller but found themselves 2 - 1 down at half time despite playing well. St Andrews stretched their lead 15 minutes into the break. Hethersett found a way back into the game thanks to some fine feet from Lewis Fox. Hethersett pressed and found their equaliser thanks to a super drive from Trevor Kusirayi. St Andrews edged in front with 8 minutes remaining but Hethersett went level with a Harry Denny header. St Andrews players all pushed up for a throw in the final third but with seconds remaining Hethersett won the ball and were on the counter attack with Denny and Tillett running almost the length of the pitch. A couple of passes kept St Andrews at bay and Tillett stormed into the box to strike the ball with the outside of his foot into an empty net to make the final score 5 - 4 to Hethersett. Credit to St Andrews management and staff who contributed to a cracking game of football. Hethersett's Daniel Cook, Trevor Kusirayi, Martin Schiller, Bradley Tillett and Harry Denny were instrumental. MOM: Hethersett’s Joe Moorhouse.

TEAM - Cook, Freeman, Dowe, Moorhouse, Schiller, Mehtab, Tillett, Kusirayi, Denny, Williams, Fowler-Shorten, Fox, Lacey

October 16th                     Hethersett      6      Norman     3

Hethersett controlled the game from start to finish and should have hit double figures. The game was full of action with 9 goals, a missed penalty and 2 disallowed goals (one for each team). The game was played in good spirit from both set of players and management. At the end of the game the Norman manager expressed his disappointment with the referee saying that he had a poor game. However, he agreed that any poor decisions were applied equally to both teams. I was told by one of my parents that there was an exchange of words between one Hethersett player and several Norman players. This took place approx 15 minutes after the game in the car park area when both sets of players had been dismissed. I do not know who instigated or intimidated this nor do I understand the sequence of events. What I can say is that Hethersett FC do not tolerate such behaviour and the player involved is under strict instructions to ensure the HAFC code & conduct is applied at all times. I trust the Norman players involved have also been reminded of their clubs code & conduct. Hethersett's keeper Daniel Cook, midfield quartet Lacey, Schiller, Tillett, Mehtab and striker Harry Denny were instrumental. MOM: Hethersett’s Josh Self.
